Keeping An Eye On Your Mouth

Except for accidental damage – biting on a fruit stone, for example – dental problems arise slowly. Regular dental examinations spot developing problems before they become serious, and allow them to be quickly and economically treated. When you come to Evergreen for a check-up, we:

  • Ask about your general health – this can affect your mouth, and might mean a change in the way we carry out your treatment
  • Discuss any concerns you have about your teeth
  • Check your bite to look at tooth alignment
  • Look for signs of gum disease
  • Assess the results of your cleaning routine, and advise on any changes necessary
  • Check for signs of tooth decay
  • Check teeth for wear, abrasion and cracks
  • Check fillings, crowns and bridges to make sure they remain sound
  • Check your jaw for signs of joint disease
  • Perform an oral cancer screening

We might also suggest x-rays to check for

  • Tooth decay in hidden areas
  • Root condition
  • Bone health surrounding the teeth
  • Erupting teeth, including wisdom teeth

If we think work is required, we’ll discuss it with you fully, using our in-mouth mini-cams or on-screen x-rays to show the problem. Then, between us, we’ll decide on a course of remedial action.
